What's Nia?Nia (nee-yuh) is a dance-based movement technique that encourages a somatic experience – guiding you gently out of your monkey-chatter mind and into your incredible, beautiful body.
With its influence in nine different movement forms, Nia blends and borrows elements of the dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts, including yoga. It's all of those things and yet none of those things - Nia has its own delicious flavour! Simple choreography is easy to follow and you're encouraged to move in your own body's way in every moment, finding movement that feels good for you. Every class moves through a natural progression of slow and fast tempos, with an eclectic mix of juicy tunes, including world, jazz, pop, drum n bass, reggae, and chilled out floaty music too. |
Who is Nia for?Every Body! All fitness levels, body types and abilities are welcome and positively encouraged.
Nia can be adapted to meet you exactly where you're at, with energy levels, injury, healing, or whatever else you have going on in your life. Just bring yourself and let movement nourish and nurture you, inside and out. |
